In this week-long adventure, experience the best of Southern Vietnam from Saigon to Mui Ne to Mekong Delta. Learn to live like a local in Saigon as you take in all the bustling city has to offer. Explore the colonial French architecture with your local guide who will explain the history and cultural significance of places like the Saigon Notre-Dame Basilica, the Central Post Office and the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City. Mui Ne is famous for its beautiful sandy beaches, massive white and red sand dunes and its friendly fishermen. We’ll take you on a Russian jeep adventure, go sandboarding and kitesurfing all in Mui Ne. Then motorbike and boat through the Mekong Delta, known for its rich farmland, agriculture and floating markets.

Rooms come standard with two twin beds. If signing up with a companion and sharing a room, the double rate applies. If requesting your own room, single rate applies. If sharing is requested, we do our best. But if we cannot, single supplement fee applies.

DAY 1: ARRIVE IN SAIGON

Today, arrive at your convenience to Saigon. We’ll handle the entire visa on arrival process to get you through immigration smoothly and efficiently. Once you’re through, meet your local guide and transfer to your hotel. Check in to your hotel right in the middle of the city and rest or get acquainted with this incredible city. Meet your local guide again for an introductory walk through this bustling city, coffee and an authentic dinner at a local restaurant.

DAY 2: SAIGON EXPERIENCE

In the morning, we’ll take you to a local café for a Vietnamese coffee (cafe sua da) before a day discovering Saigon. Visit the Independence Palacewhich was built in 1883 with its original name of Dinh Norodom, home and working place of the Indochina generals.  Explore the Saigon Notre-Dame Basilica, a beautiful and contrasting display of religion, culture and colonialism. We’ll take you to the Central Post Office with it’s beautiful combination of East and West architecture. The People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City is located right in the center of district 01 and was built by the French architect Gardès.

Take a break in the afternoon. In the evening, we’ll meet again for an exhilarating motorbike tour around the city with stops for our favorite street food along the way. End the evening with an authentic Vietnamese dinner.

DAY 3: SAIGON – MUI NE

Today, we hit the road. In the morning after breakfast, we depart for Phan Thiet City where Mui Ne located, famous for stretch of beaches as well as sand dunes. On the way, enjoy the countryside scenery as well as the Ca Ty River. We’ll have a local lunch along the way. In the afternoon after arriving in Mui Ne, we’ll check in to the hotel and then start our afternoon with a trip to the red sand dunes by Russian jeep and try sandboarding. Take a sunset dip in the clear emerald waters before we have dinner at a local seafood restaurant.

DAY 4: MUI NE ADVENTURE

Take a morning swim in the calm blue waters. After breakfast, get ready for a day of activity on the beach. Learn to kitesurf with expert local instructors. Have a local lunch on the beach and then return in the evening for a sunset motorbike excursion through the red sand dunes.

Dinner is on your own, but your local guide will show you the best restaurants and nightclubs to check out.

DAY 5: MUI NE – BEN TRE (MEKONG)

After breakfast, we’ll take you on a very early motorbike excursion through a chaotic fishermen market where most of the local seafood traders, restaurants, street food vendors and other local traders buy and sell their overnight catch. It is a fascinating experiences that should not be missed. Then we’ll visit a famous fish sauce factory owned by a multi-generation family to learn how the locals make this delicacy and simply put Vietnamese staple using fermented fish.

Afterwards, continue your journey to Ben Tre of the Mekong Delta, an area known for its coconuts, durian, pomelo, mangosteen and mango! Experience the traditional crafts and folk culture and see the Don Ca Tai Tu, a traditional musical art performance that has both scholarly and folk roots. This type of musical art resonates with the lifestyle of the Southern Vietnamese people who work on the land and rivers of the delta region.

DAY 6: BEN TRE – CAN THO (MEKONG)

This morning, we’ll discover the mighty Mekong Delta region by boat to learn more about the local life of farmers here. Experience life through ancient temples, fruit orchards, rice and flower farms and villages. Take a boat trip along the Mekong River and experience the local way of transport through the canals by Ghe (a small hand row boat) before we have lunch at a with a local family.

After lunch, we drive to Can Tho and check into the hotel. Enjoy free time to relax and late afternoon, we’ll meet for a street food tour and local beer in Can Tho city and Ninh Kieu, a famous wharf in the Mekong Delta.

DAY 7  – CAN THO – SAIGON

Floating Markets in Mekong Delta in Vietnam

Early morning, we’ll start our visit to Cai Rang floating market by boat. The floating markets in the Mekong Delta represent the quintessential life, culture and lifestyle of the people here for thousands of years. The floating markets are a great opportunity for you to get great photos of bustling commerce on the water, exotic fruits and thriving agricultural products produced in the rich soil of the Mekong. After the market, return to the hotel for a full breakfast before heading back to Sai Gon.

Explore Sai Gon at your leisure for the rest of the day.

DAY 8 – FAREWELL

Enjoy your last moments in Saigon! Your transfer will be waiting to take you to Tan Son Nhat airport for your return flight home!
